Design: ASGS Killer Cutout
I present Derek, the first of hopefully many Killer Cutouts from the ASGS. I squeezed out this guy at the last minute for a campus-wide promotional event. A couple hundred copies were printed on cardstock and given out for free. Hopefully, people took some time to build him. Let me know if you want one.
Adobe CS4 Conference
I attended the CS4 Conference in LA this past Thursday with the Graphic Studio crew. It was a very long and tiring but “eye-opening” experience. Now I can not wait to get CS4. We also stopped by the GR stores on Sawtelle afterwards which was great fun. I wish I took some photos but I plan on returning real soon.
Photoshop tips & tricks like how to clone out wrinkles. Maybe I could clone in some hair for that guy in the front row…
This segment on Aftereffects is about when I fell asleep, even though it’s the stuff I should really be paying attention to.

Vinyl: Lineup Update
Went to Melrose the first time this weekend and I have to say that I am quite jealous of the lucky people who have access to that culture and atmosphere all the time. It’s very much like Telegraph in Berkeley but much less gloomy. But maybe that’s just me. Anyway, went crazy at some of the vinyl shops. A selected few to show off:
Grub: Geisha House
Had a late late night Valentine’s meal at the very hip and cooool Geisha House, recommended by a couple familiars. Everyone said the food is whatever but the atmosphere is impressive. The decor definitely didn’t disappoint, though I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The King crab and taru taru were top-notch. Geisha house definitely expolits Japanese culture for all its glory and shame, with wallpaper of the Japan’s city streets to a Afro Samurai mural spanning its second story. It’s extreme, but I like it.
